The Private Bikers Association of Kenya was “formally” started in 2014 by representatives of different motorcylist groups, associations, Clubs to express the corporate desire to form a united private motorcylist body to advocate for their needs in the country. Originally there were a few organized groups like the Outriders Association of Kenya, TSA, Cruising Kings, Coast Riders Association, Lakeside Riders and Superhero Bikers Club (SBC) amongst others.
2015 saw the rapid growth of motorcylist numbers. Motorcylists got organized by either the type of motorbike they rode, or inside Nyumba Kumis (where they lived or worked). These Nyuma Kumis organize motorcyclists so that they may be able to fraternize, help each other in case of emergencies, engage in outreach to other road users and non-riding members of the public in their communities.
We are one of those nyumba kumis…
